We look forward to collaborating with you on a story that may inspire or inform our global ISKCON community.
Your submitted stories/essays should be between 300-800 words in length and made up of short paragraphs. The first (lede) paragraph should ideally summarize your story, answering some basic questions (who, what, where, when, why, how). The remaining paragraphs can then detail the event, devotee profile, book review, etc. As a rule, they should not include your opinions or first-person narratives.
An opinion piece should be between 500-1,000 words. Here, you can express your opinion and write from the first-person point of view. However, bear in mind that these articles must still be based on a springboard of solid facts.
Your article should be submitted as a Google doc with full editing privileges (send the doc link to editor@iskcon.org). Similarly, photos/images should be placed in a separate Google folder and shared as a link to editor@iskcon.org. Please include captions for each photo/image by naming the image with the caption language you’d like, e.g., SankirtanDasdistributesprasadaminLondonevent.jpg
If possible, please use an online grammar checker before submitting your content to ISKCON News. If you don’t feel qualified to write the article, please contact us at editor@iskcon.org, and we can discuss the possibility of assigning an ISKCON News Staff Writer to help you.
