Devotees took to the streets of Manila on Christmas day to perform harinam, a traditional form of devotional chanting and singing. This event, which is organized by ISKCON Sri Sri Radha Madhava Mandir- Manila Philippines, drew a large crowd of both participants and spectators, as devotees sang and danced their way through the city’s main thoroughfares.

Many of those in attendance were dressed in traditional garb, and some carried and played musical instruments such as karatals and mrdangas.

There are a lot of people on the streets of Manila as Christmas Day approaches. Devotees went to Divisoria, one of Manila’s busiest commercial districts. People throng here to buy and trade goods. Just days before Christmas, hundreds of people are gathered here.

Devotees were also responsible for distributing prasadam, sanctified food, to the needy on the streets of Manila. In the city of Manila, there were about 3 million homeless individuals before the pandemic, now numbers are even more inflated.

Harinam Sankirtan is held in cities around the world and is intended not only to celebrate Lord Krishna’s teachings but to promote a message of peace and unity.
