In a December 12th, 2022 New York Times business article entitled “Japan Indian Tech Workers. But Do They Need Japan?” ISKCON Japan’s New Gaya temple was featured with two photos taken at the Tokyo-based center.

The second photo in the article, features a frequenter of the ISKCON center in Tokyo. The caption reads: “Yogenndra Puranik who is the first person from India to win elected office”. Photo credit: The New York Times

Although it is not stated in the article why the New York Times featured the ISKCON center, it is assumed that it is because ISKCON is one of the few Hindu centers in the country, furthering the article’s point about Indians not being a large part of Japanese society.
