Annamrita, an initiative of ISKCON Food Relief Foundation in India, has received a three-page feature article in CSR Mandate magazine.

The article describes how ISKCON Food Relief Foundation feeds more than 1.2 million underprivileged children across India everyday. It explains how this allows poor children to attend school and get an education rather than turning to crime or menial work in order to survive.

The article also praises Srila Prabhupada. One day in Mayapur, a village near Kolkata, the article explains, the ISKCON Founder looked out of his window and saw a group of children fighting with street dogs over scraps of food. With tears of compassion in his eyes, he declared that no one within a ten-mile radius of any ISKCON center should go hungry. This was the inspiration for ISKCON Food Relief Foundation.

The article also includes rave reviews of the program from VIPs. “The ISKCON Food Relief Foundation has done a wonderful job,” Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dixit is quoted as saying in the article. “Their quality is very good, their timings are very good. They are on the dot! Our experience with ISKCON has been marvelous. They are dedicated and they do not promise anything that they feel they cannot do.”

CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) Mandate is a bi-monthly magazine published by New Media, India’s largest bilateral Trade Magazine publishing house, which covers more than 125 countries across the globe.

It focuses on the community work carried out by the Government, corporate entities and the civil society. CSR Mandate’s objective is to provide a platform to these groups to share their visions, goals, inspiring stories, and projects.

30,000 copies of the magazine are distributed freely through an established global network.

“India has a new Companies Bill that nudges certain companies to invest two per cent of their profits in Corporate Social Responsibility,” says ISKCON Food Relief Foundation Director Radha-Krishna Das. “Annamrita needs the attention of many such Corporates who are looking for credible partners at the community level. There are many platforms where we have established our credibility among various stakeholders. The CSR Mandate is one such platform that will facilitate our genuine effort for the needy children, and sustain our work.”
